Official Website of Author, Speaker, and Ministry Leader
According to my mother, I have always been a girl who knew what she wanted. In fact, the phrase "you are not the boss of me" fell from my lips at a very early age. Oh, the drama of it all. It wouldn't surprise anyone that I would take my big personality to the stage. At the same time, I was working my way up in retail management. Through these two avenues, I had incredible people pouring into my life and development. They taught me how to speak with confidence, manage my time and projects, and to lead others well.
When I began serving in ministry leadership, over twenty years ago, I applied what I had learned into every facet of my ministry service. I learned what skills worked, and which ones didn't. Eventually, I would return to school to complete a Divinity degree. I didn't want to just know how to lead, I wanted to know how God would have me lead others.
Going back as far as I can remember, I have had a heart for serving women through leadership. My deepest desire is to help women find the leader within, guiding and developing her leadership skills so she can feel confident walking out The Great Commission in her church, ministry, and community.
I believe there is a Kingdom Leader within us all.

"Gena has a kind heart and is impeccable with her words, both spoken and written. She is a master of strategic planning and flawless execution. As a leader and guide for women in ministry, an author and a speaker, she is uniquely equipped to lead from the front in a variety of ways--which she does with great aplomb. "It was our Church's absolute privilege for Gena McCown to be the guest speaker at our first annual Women's Ministry Luncheon. The theme of our luncheon was Reflections: The Women God Sees! We were preparing to embark into a study of Esther called "For Such a Time as This: Secrets of Strategic Living". We met with Gena and discussed the theme and outline of what we would like included in her message, and she shared her testimony and events in her life that she would like to include with the Proverbs 31 Woman as the main message. How perfectly it tied into both the them and the study we were beginning.
At our even, her humor, wit, and life experiences had us laughing, crying, and gave us comfort in knowing we aren't the only ones walking our Christian women's pathway. We would highly recommend Gena McCown as a speaker for your next event."
